OnePlus 8 Lite to Launch in Q2 2020: What You Need to Know The existence of OnePlus 8 Lite comes as a surprise as the company stayed away from the mid-range segment for nearly four years now. The one and only mid-range phone from OnePlus was the OnePlus X which received a poor response from the audience thanks to its sub-par battery life. Since then, OnePlus stuck to only one flagship phone at a time. In 2019, the company’ strategy took a new turn as it went onto compete with the big guns like Samsung, Apple and Huawei in the premium smartphone segment. Also, 2019 will mark as the first year for OnePlus during which it launched four flagship smartphones. In 2020, it seems like we will get to see three OnePlus smartphones launching at one go. In Q2 2020, OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 8 series which is rumoured to include a total of three phones- the standard OnePlus 8, the premium OnePlus 8 Pro and the affordable OnePlus 8 Lite. The 3D renders of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro leaked online revealed the design of both the phones. Now, it’s time for the OnePlus 8 Lite to get the same treatment. Courtesy of 91mobiles and OnLeaks, we now have the first 3D renders of the OnePlus 8 Lite. The OnePlus 8 Lite will have a flat display, punch-hole located on the top centre of the phone, and possibly, an in-display fingerprint scanner. It seems like the handset will offer glass build and there will be dual cameras on the backside. The OnePlus 8 Lite will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack and it’s said to measure 8.6mm in thickness. Besides these details, we don’t have much information regarding the OnePlus 8 Lite at the moment. We’re expecting more details to pop up online in the coming weeks, especially at the beginning of 2020. OnePlus 8 Lite Could Be the Mid-Range Smartphone We Deserve OnePlus smartphones always received a thumbs up from the audience because of their reliable performance. But the major credit goes to OxygenOS which is the best Android skin right now. OnePlus took two years to tweak OxygenOS and majority of OnePlus smartphone owners rate it as the best feature of OnePlus devices. A mid-range OnePlus smartphone with OxygenOS will eat up the market share of Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. Vivo is dominating the sub Rs 30,000 segment with Vivo V series of phones, whereas Xiaomi stepped into the same price bracket this year with the Redmi K20 series. Oppo also has a strong foothold between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 in India. Hardware details of the OnePlus 8 Lite are unknown at the moment.
